Saturday 1st November 2008 - I woke daddy up very early this morning as I was being sick again. It wasn't as big as the ones I had yesterday but it still meant daddy had to rescue me from swimming around in it! When I'd finished being sick I was much happier and me and daddy played for a little while with my balloon and other toys.
Daddy gave me some porridge for breakfast but I wasn't that hungry so I only had a little bit. Then I had a little sleep and daddy did some tidying up ready for mummy coming tomorrow.
When I woke up daddy played some more with me and then my doctors came to check me over. Daddy told them all about how sick I'd been yesterday and said he thought it was caused because I was being fed too much too often and also because the lady that makes my milk up for me was putting some extra carols (Tiana means calories) into it to help me put on more weight. Daddy explained to the doctors that I had the same problem in May/June when I was at my local hospital and it stopped once they took the extra carols out of my milk. The doctors agreed to give me plain milk today to see if that would make any difference and daddy was very pleased.
Before I had my next bottle daddy gave me some beans with veg and sausage with lumpy bits. I'm getting quite good at chomping on the lumpy bits now and didn't choke this time! A little while after i'd had a quarter of a tin of beans with veg and sausage, my nurse brought my new plain milk in without the carols. While I was having it through my tube daddy kept a close eye on me. My tummy didn't hurt like it did yesterday and I was very happy while I was having it. After it had finished daddy gave me some more cuddles and I bashed him about a bit. My tummy felt fine and I wasn't sick at all! Daddy was very happy!
My doctors told daddy that everything else was fine and they were still waiting to get my INR levels right. They said they were going to give me a bit more warfarin as they expect my antibiotics to have worn off in the next day or two so they want to be prepared.
After I'd had my lunch and milk I had a little sleep and daddy watched some tv and talked to mummy on his laptop. He told mummy what the doctors had said and that I hadn't been sick after my last bottle. Mummy was very happy and said she'd give me big cuddles tomorrow.
When I woke up again me and daddy watched the fast cars. Well I say me and daddy but it was mostly daddy. I was more interested in trying to eat and remove the big bandage on my foot! But it wasn't easy because I was sitting on daddy's lap and, every time I tried to take a bite of the bandage, daddy took it out of my mouth! I let daddy think I'd forgotten what I was doing and then tried again. And again. And again. Eventually I gave up and daddy gave me a snuggle cuddle and I fell asleep again.
After I'd been asleep for a while I woke up and realised I was hungry. Daddy got me some strawberry cheesecake and I had a quarter of a tin before I got a bit bored of it. So I tried eating the bandage on my foot again instead. It does look tasty - I just wish I could take a proper bite!
Daddy put me back in my cot and then proceeded to make me laugh. He pretended his hand was a tickly hand and it kept tickling me everywhere! Sometimes it would get my tummy, then my feet, my neck and sometimes my face! It was very funny especially when daddy pretended to tickle me but didn't...!
I had my last bottle before bed as me and daddy watched some funny people on tv falling over a lot and generally doing silly things. Then me and daddy had a dance to In the Night Garden and I started getting tired again. My milk finished and my tummy still wasn't hurting so I wasn't sick again! Since the doctors said I could have plain milk I've not been sick so daddy and me are hoping I'll do the same again tomorrow and I will start putting on weight again!
Daddy said mummy is really missing me and will be here early in the afternoon. I'm going to have a nice bath and hair wash in the morning before mummy arrives so I look and smell beautiful. I can't wait to see her too because I've missed her lots and lots!
